Tom O'Neill - Managing Director

Tom O'Neill set up Brandon Consulting in 1998 with 19 years experience in the IT industry. After graduating from Tralee Technology college in 1984, O'Neill went on to have a successful career in America for 6 years. On returning to Ireland he worked for computer companies such as Mentec and Harlequin, before setting up Brandon Consulting. Named after O'Neill's hometown in Kerry, Brandon Consulting has expanded into a prosperous business since its set up 12 years ago with a team of dedicated, qualified expert engineers.



Gary Melvin - Sales Director

 

Gary Melvin has been part of the Brandon team for twelve years. He now holds the position of sales director. Gary has 10 years experience working with advanced Microsoft infrastructure solutions predominately on database management systems and MS SQL Server. This experience has been gained working on numerous projects with Brandon, working with SQL installations, configuration, upgrades and migrations for larger financial and retail clients.


 
    Robert Rea - Technical Director

 

    Robert Rea has been with Brandon for ten years. Rob has a high level of expertise, specifically in the area of storage technologies. He has over ten years experience in Dell Storage Solutions, VMware implementations, Microsoft windows server 2000/2003 and Microsoft cluster technologies. His industry certifications include VM capacity planner, VM infrastructure 3 and MCSE.

To date, Rob has successfully worked with Lifestyle Sports, Kilsaran Concrete, Bank of Scotland and Dell on a number of I.T implementation tasks.

 

Brandon Professional Services Teams

 

Virtualisation and Storage Group:

The Virtualisation and Storage Group deploy EMC and Dell Storage and virtualisation solutions based on Microsoft and VMware technology while also incorporating backup solutions from Microsoft and Symantec. The engineers have 5+ years of multi-vendor SAN design deployment and management and also numerous deployments of enterprise virtualisation solutions. The engineers are assigned full time to virtualisation, storage and backup projects for Brandon customers and partners while also acting as second level support escalation points for all our managed services customers.

 

Microsoft Infrastructure Group:

Brandon was founded in 1998 to offer expert professional services on the Microsoft infrastructure platform. This group utilises active directory as a base and includes server products such as Windows Server, Exchange Server, and Office Communication Server. The group carries out installations upgrades and migrations from alternative platforms. Over the years Brandon have been involved in numerous large scale deployments, upgrades and migrations while at the same time working with existing customers to leverage the Microsoft infrastructure technology to meet diverse business requirements.

 

Microsoft SQL Group:

With the launch of SQL 2005 and the additional functionality offered in the core product in terms of business reporting and analysis services it was decided to move SQL technology into a separate group. This group is focused on both the maintenance of the SQL database platform and also utilising the Microsoft SQL technology to offer business reporting and business intelligence functionality.
